Case Studies

Lear Corporation

The luxury car market is still performing very well and manufacturers such as Jaguar and Land Rover are enjoying huge export sales to emerging markets such as China, Russia and South America.

Lear Corporation is a market leader in seating systems for most major motor manufacturers and are a world wide automotive supplier based in most countries throughout the world.

Jaguar cars has realised the potential for a limousine version of its product range to offer an alternative to other motor manufactures for the Entrepreneur who wishes to travel to and from meetings and clients whilst having the ability to continue to work and run their business empire in an environment that fits.

Jaguar and Lear have therefore engineered and developed the largest ever seat pan design to supply a luxury seat system in the rear of their range of limousines.

As a key supplier to Lear Corporation, Broadways was nominated to supply the pressings and assembly of this seat pan to their UK manufacturing facility.

Through placing the tooling and fixtures through our strategic and proven tooling route in China we have managed to achieve the cost and timing for this very important project.

Throughout the project Broadways has supplied Lear and Jaguar with sample builds and has managed to implement cost effective solutions to changes as the program has developed and got nearer to SOP.

The tooling consists of 14 cast tools all weighing 5-6000Kg’s each to run in our 800 and 600 Ton press range, robotic welding and assembly and powder coat finishing all of which is done ‘in-house’ at Broadways Stampings Ltd.

Once again the project achieved on-time delivery at all stages.
